I was very honored to be a special guest at the Dallas Medical Spa’s event on August 18! It was great to be in such a beautiful spa with my amazing sister queen, Miss Texas International, Kelli Ansley. It was refreshing to talk to women from all over Dallas about skincare and other beauty tips! The event featured a wide array of aesthetic procedures, door prizes, food, drinks and just a nice evening for women to get away and relate with each other! I am excited to work with the beautiful Carolyn Hulse, Spa Manager, and the Dallas Med Spa in the future. Dallas Medical Spa is an extraordinary sponsor of the Texas International Pageants and right down the street, lucky me!

Distressed Children and Infants International's annual fundraiser!
After months of preparation and planning, I am very proud to announce that the annual Distressed Children and Infants International fundraising event was a huge success! I am very honored to have been on the planning staff and help organize such a wonderful event that highlighted the importance of education and the need to end child labor and poverty in third world countries. I proudly had a booth for my scholarship foundation, Learning Creates Futures. My constantly crowded booth kept me busy and excited! I enjoyed selling scarves and beautiful donated dresses to raise funds for my upcoming winter trip to award scholarships in Bangladesh. 100% of proceeds from my sales went directly to my scholarship foundation. I love working with Distressed Children and Infants International and I am proud and honored to be a spokesperson for such a prestigious organization.
I am looking forward to my trip to Yale University on September 9-10 to be a guest speaker at the annual Child Rights Convention.

The Boys and Girls Club @ The Dallas Cowboys Game!
I was more than excited to attend the Dallas Cowboys pre-season opener against the Denver Broncos with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. It was great to sit back and relax with the some of the same kids I work with at the club sites! The game was certainly heated up, but we were thankfully in a beautiful and air-conditioned indoor field! This was even more memorable because it was my first Dallas Cowboys game at the new stadium in Arlington, TX and I wouldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share my experience with than the wonderful staff and members of the Boys and Girls Club! Thank you so much for the tickets!

A Memorable Experience & Amazing Young Ladies
Monday, July 25, 2011 marked the beginning of a week filled with long exhausting days, memorable appearances and most importantly amazing people. As I landed at the O’Hare Chicago airport early that Monday, I had no idea what was in store for me. I was excited, anxious and a bit nervous for the upcoming week at the Miss Teen International pageant.
Day 1 – orientation - It was thrilling to hear about the remarkable young ladies I would be spending the next week with. As each contestant spoke about her hometown, it was astonishing how much I learned about the world!
Day 2 started early with a day filled with appearances; it was possibly my favorite day the entire week! As I spent the day with my fellow sister queens touring Chicago and making appearances at the John Hancock Observatory, Lincoln Zoo and my personal favorite, the Boys and Girls Club, it was very refreshing to simply relax and do what I love best – impact children.
The next few days were filled with long rehearsals, which seemed exhausting at the time but now looking back, I realize those were the best moments shared with the other contestants. We laughed and joked backstage and really spent that time bonding with each other. This gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better and really share with each other our purpose and platform. I am so proud that so many young ladies, just like me, are truly making a difference in this world. The rehearsals flew by and before I knew it, I was dancing the production on stage with all the astonishing contestants. Thursday night preliminary competition quickly turned into Saturday night finals and I was thrilled to be called into the top 10 finalists who would continue on that night.
The night went by quickly and Sunday morning I checked out of the hotel, proudly leaving Chicago as a top 10 finalist in such an honorable competition. My blistered feet are symbols of a great week filled with memorable experiences and amazing young ladies!
Grand Prairie Boys & Girls Club
Before I embarked on my journey at the Miss Teen International pageant, I had another opportunity to visit a Boys and Girls Club SMART girls program. The Grand Prairie Boys and Girls Club welcomed me with smiling faces as a guest speaker to their smart girls. This time was slightly different because not only did I have girls from 9-12, but I was also joined by a group of teenage girls. I was very proud and honored to be respected by a group of girls my own age who participated in my coloring activity and enthusiastically asked questions about college, high school, and advanced classes.
Everyone was excited to go to college, questing after their dreams. Going to the Grand Prairie Boys and Girls Club was truly a remarkable experience and definitely a wonderful afternoon spent right before my trip to Chicago.
